ALFORD, John - Private, Co. F, 12th OH Cavalry. Born about 1840 in PA. Enlisted 10 Aug 1864 at age 24. Mustered out 14 Nov 1865 at Nashville, TN. Married to Lucinda. In 1870, John is a Boot & Shoe Maker living in Perry Twp, Lawrence Co., PA and a Laborer in Marion Twp, Beaver Co., PA in 1880. Possibly buried in Pittsburgh.

BOOTS, Edward Nicholas - Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant, 101st PA Infantry. Born 19 Dec 1833 in North Sewickley (now Marion) Township, Beaver Co., PA. The son of Rev. John & Sylvia (Coleman) Boots. Enrolled at age 27, a Teacher from Beaver Co., PA. Mustered into Co. H on 29 Oct 61 as Sgt. Promoted 13 Nov 62 to Company QM Sgt. Re-enlisted 1 Jan 64 at Plymouth, NC and was promoted to Regimental QM Sgt. Captured 20 April 64 at Plymouth. Held captive at Andersonville, GA (Squad 20, 1st Mess). Died 12 Sept 1864 of Scorbutus & starvation at Andersonville, GA. Grave # 8606. Memorial stone at North Sewickley Cemetery, Beaver Co., PA. GAR # 1412.

Fought in many major battles including Gettysburg. Mustered out 21 June 1865. Died 2 March 1903 in Wayne Twp, Lawrence Co., PA. Buried in North Sewickley Cemetery, Beaver Co., PA.

Mustered out 5 Aug 1861. Then commissioned as Captain in Co. K, 100th PA. Mustered in 31 Aug 1861. Wounded 29 Aug 1862 at Second Bull Run, VA. Died 27 Sept 1862 from his wounds at Washington, DC. WILSON, Joseph Hemphill - Colonel, 101st PA Infantry. Born 16 May 1820 in North Sewickley Township (now Franklin), Beaver Co., PA; son of Thomas and Agnes (Hemphill) Wilson. He graduated Jefferson College in Canonsburg, PA. Admitted to the bar on 5 June 1850. For three years was the District Attorney of Beaver County. He was elected as a member of the PA House of Representatives from 1856 to 1861. Enrolled at age 41, assuming command of the 101st PA on 17 Sept 61. Mustered in 4 Oct 61. Commanded the regiment at Yorktown & Williamsburg, VA. Died 30 May 1862 of Typhoid fever near Roper's Church, VA. His remains were brought home by his brother, John Hays Wilson, and interred in the Zelienople Cemetery, Butler Co., PA. PhotoPhoto | Headstone
